I love how cholla cactus looks backlit by the sun and in this scene, I explored what it looks like in moonlight. The spines form a little halo around each branch. The scene is one I have painted before as a daytime scene as well as one showing agaves instead of the cholla. The arroyo is located in Culp Valley.
