This scene is on the forest land adjacent to our ranch where I walk the dogs everyday. It is the most special place in the world to me because of the oaks, the sage and the wildlife I encounter there. I have actually given several of the trees names and this particular one is called Igor. In reality, he is crooked, has missing limbs and looks a little bit worse for the wear but I found it hard to paint him like that......dont know why because I think he is actually more beautiful than what I painted.
