This scene is near the entrance to Coyote Canyon where the seasonal stream crosses the road. It was my first time out to this area in a few years and I was excited about exploring, photographing and painting the desert. When I came across this wash, the blue shadows of the bank and ocotillo, I knew I had found a beautiful subject to paint and I thought about how awesome it would be to see this when the water is coursing thru after a storm.
