Buckwheat and Great Basin Sage

This scene is from a bank that we pass when entering  our property and has two of my favorite native plants on it.......Great Basin Sage and Eriogonum (Buckwheat).  I love the way Buckwheat changes color throughout the year......it gets creamy white blossoms which turn a deep dark rust color when they dry which is intensified after it rains.  This scene just happened to have both versions going on at same time.
